What is the role?

Make a difference every day as a Multi Skilled Operative  at Hafod.

We're looking for a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our Property Services team. In this hands-on role, you'll carry out a wide range of repairs, maintenance, void and planned works across our properties in South wales, helping to ensure our customers have safe, well-maintained homes.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver high-quality repairs, maintenance, void and planned works across Hafod properties.
  • Use a broad range of trade skills to complete jobs efficiently and achieve a first-time fix wherever possible.
  • Prepare for each job by ensuring you have the correct materials, equipment and information required.
  • Work within a scheduled appointments system, delivering work on time and to a high standard.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and customers throughout the repair process.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with current legislation, regulations and Hafod policies.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed using digital tools and systems.
  • Leave properties clean, safe and ready for customers following all works.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience within a Housing Association or Local Authority maintenance environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry, Plumbing, or a related trade (or equivalent experience)
  • A full UK manual driving license
  • Experience carrying out repairs and maintenance within occupied and unoccupied residential properties.
  • A broad range of practical maintenance skills, including areas such as carpentry, plumbing, tiling, flooring, fencing, kitchen and bathroom installations.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety and safe working practices.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience using digital technology, including email, calendars and mobile devices.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.
  • A positive, flexible approach and willingness to support colleagues across different trades.
